If you're searching for good news, the San Francisco 49ers' injury report on Thursday is not the place to look.

San Francisco looks to be heading towards having an offensive and defensive starter unavailable against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14.

Kyle Shanahan has already essentially ruled out defensive tackle Arik Armstead with foot and knee issues, and several others are poised to join him on the sideline by the looks of the update following their second practice of the week.

Injury report observations

While starting right guard Spencer Burford and backup running back Elijah Mitchell were both seen working on a side field, the fact they each missed out for a second straight day is obviously not a positive sign for their availability.

Jon Feliciano will likely step in for Burford if he can't shake off another knee injury having missed the Week 12 game with the Seahawks with a similar issue.

Mitchell was said to be dealing with soreness. However, given his lack of durability over the course of his Niners career, it would be no surprise to see him miss the game.

Should that be the case, Jordan Mason would be the man expected to spell starter Christian McCaffrey and one of Tyrion Davis-Price or Jeremy McNichols would be primed to be promoted from the practice squad.

There is no indication of any problem with All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, and his second successive rest day may just be a case of the 49ers being extra careful with a player who missed two games due to an ankle sprain earlier this season.

Ray-Ray McCloud's rib injury clearly continues to linger as he was back on the sideline on Thursday. As he did in last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, rookie Ronnie Bell will deputize as the kick returner for the Niners if McCloud cannot go.

Tight end Ross Dwelley and rookie cornerback Darrell Luter Jr. won't play this week.
