It's easy to overreact to losses in the NFL when every game is pivotal and there's only one game per week.

But you know what they say: "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."

And following back-to-back losses against subpar opponents, Cam Heyward knows where the blame belongs, and he's not above making some hard decisions, even if they include him:

Lack of Execution

"Either guys learn, or you got to change who's in there," Heyward told reporters after the game. "Myself included. If I can't execute, then you got to take me out. That's just the way the group rolls. "That's the way we've always done it. But I think we have the men capable of doing that. I think in a short week it comes down to those execution type of plays. Thursday games always come down to who can make the least amount of mistakes. That's usually the team that wins on Thursday night."

Heyward might be on to something here, especially when it comes to the inside linebacker position. Pittsburgh's second level continues to be exploited by teams, but that is largely due to injury and backups rather than poor play.

And as far as he goes, Heyward continues to be force in the run game and just tied James Harrison for second all-time in franchise history for sacks.

So I don't know the answer either. What I do know, is that these types of losses either break teams apart or galvanize a locker room.

With a month to go, and eight days until their next game, we'll see which category Pittsburgh falls into soon enough.
