Bills: Eagles are making up a pathetic Josh Allen story that makes no sense

Let me start by saying this: The Philadelphia Eagles deserve all the respect for getting it done in Week 12 when the Buffalo Bills couldn't. Did the home team get some breaks here and there? Maybe.

But the Eagles got it done when they could win it. In contrast, the Bills had a chance to make the stop before regulation and didn't. They decided not to go for the kill in regulation with 20 seconds left on the clock. The football gods blessed them by giving them the win in the coin toss, a chance at redeeming the mistakes made in regulation. They failed to end it with a touchdown.

With all that out of the way, the Eagles are looking pretty pathetic with the way they're going off against Bills quarterback Josh Allen with a made-up story.

Let's rewind it to the controversial play where Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick seemingly brings down Allen with a horse collar tackle. Not only did Philly benefit from a no-call where there should've been one but Allen got flagged for a highly questionable intentional grounding.

We'll get to the fairness of the flag itself in a moment but first, check out what Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat had to say about the controversial moment.

Their comments caught me off guard because they sure seem to be making stuff up after that game. According to Jimmy Kempski from PhillyVoice, both defenders claimed that Allen was lobbying the refs to throw the intentional grounding flag.

"He was lobbying for an intentional grounding," Reddick said per Kempski. "If that doesn't tell you what that means (…) they gotta start counting that as a sack."

Added Sweat with no shortage of F-bombs: "That's some bullshit, and he did it on purpose, the f***ing dude literally begged [the officials] for intentional grounding to not f***ing take a sack. He f***ing begged for intentional grounding just to not give us a sack."

Wait, what!? So Sweat and Reddick are claiming that Allen talked to the officials and lobbied for a flag that was worse than taking a sack just to mess with their stats? Either they're making it up to mess with the Bills quarterback or they totally misunderstood what Allen was talking to officials about which was a blatant no-call on the horse collar. You can even see Josh talk to officials while grabbing his jersey!

In no moment did we see Allen lobby for the intentional grounding just to take away a sack from Reddick, which is a hilarious notion.

"There's no benefit," said Reddick. "They actually lost more yards on the intentional grounding than they did on the sack."

There's no benefit and also, there's no evidence that backs up their claims against Allen.

It's a pathetic hill to die on from the Eagles defenders, especially considering they got the win. Speaking of evidence, below is a picture of Allen literally pointing to Gabe Davis in an effort to avoid the flag, contrary to Sweat's and Reddick's claims.

With all that being said, the most painful part of it all for the Bills Mafia is that it's Allen who has much more of a reason to complain about the officiating. The intentional grounding call itself was much more questionable considering Gabe Davis was absolutely in the area as the checkdown for the keeper concept they were running. Even Tony Romo said it during the CBS broadcast.

In spite of the odd story they decided to fabricate, it all falls back to the first few paragraphs of this post: The Bills could've won this one in spite of the officiating. And they failed. On to Week 13 while the fanbase holds out hope for a playoff appearance.
