Not only will the Cincinnati Bengals be facing a new quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings this weekend, Nick Mullens will have the pleasure of having one of the best pass catchers at his disposal.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson has announced he will play Saturday against the Bengals.

Jefferson's 2023 season has been derailed by a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Minnesota placed Jefferson on the Reserve/Injured list a few days later.

The 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year made his return this past Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Jefferson caught two passes for 27 yards before exiting the game with a seemingly scary chest injury.

Jefferson was transported to a local hospital, and was soon released to travel back home with the rest of the team.

The Vikings' first injury report of the week revealed Jefferson to be limited with his chest injury. Him clearing the air on his playing status for Saturday eliminates any remaining suspense that would've been had throughout the week.

Jefferson is no stranger to the stars of the Bengals. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase famously won a national championship with Jefferson at LSU nearly four years ago. Chase's first game with Burrow in a Bengals uniform was an overtime win over Jefferson's Vikings to begin the 2021 season.

Jefferson may be the only one of those three to play in Paycor Stadium this Saturday. Burrow has been on I.R. for the past three weeks, and Chase popped up on Cincinnati's injury report with an ankle injury Tuesday

There will be no friendly pleasantries for Jefferson and the Bengals' defense, the unit that will be tasked to stop one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL today. Jefferson is a threat to takeover any game when he's fully healthy. Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and his unit will have to treat him like that come Saturday.
