After two and a half games of sub-par play, the Pittsburgh Steelers are pulling the plug on Mitch Trubisky:

The league's highest-paid backup will revert to the bench, as Pittsburgh does their best to save their season:

Just In Time For Christmas

Rudolph last started in 2021 when Ben Roethlisberger went down with an injury. The 28-year-old former second-round pick has thrown for over 2300 yards, 16 TDs, and 11 interceptions across 18 games and 11 starts.

Coach Tomlin also added that there is a chance we see the return of Kenny Pickett, but Rudolph is the starter for the time being.

Practice reports will be key this week, as Coach Tomlin said Pickett is questionable, with his availability in the latter half of the week being a determinant in whether or not he can go.

But for now, Pittsburgh has to admit that the re-signing of Mitch Trubisky was not only a mistake but a fairly expensive one when you compare him to his contemporaries. We'll see if Rudolph can play any better, or if Pickett will be ready to roll come Saturday.
