The Philadelphia Eagles completely crumbled after starting the season 10-1, leaving many to wonder whether or not Nick Sirianni should keep his job as head coach moving forward.

But contrary to what critics are saying, there's only one person's opinion that matters and that's Eagles' owner Jeffrey Lurie.

According to Sirianni, Lurie is in his corner, even after a truly tragic historic downfall.

Sirianni made that clear during Monday's press conference following the Eagles' 27-10 loss to the New York Giants.

"Ever since I’ve been here, whether it was we started off 2-5, whether it was that we won 16 games last year, whether it was we started off 10-1, whether it was that we’ve lost five of our last six because we’ve been through ups and we’ve been through downs, and he’s been nothing but supportive towards me the entire time I’ve been here," Sirianni said when asked what Lurie's recent message has been.

"Through any tough decision I’ve ever had to make, through any personnel, anything like that, anything with a game decision. Mr. Lurie has been nothing but completely supportive and willing to do anything in his power to help us win football games. And that’s what I respect so much about him. And so, man, I couldn’t thank him enough and be more grateful to have him as our owner and the leader of our organization."

Of course, the Eagles will need to turn things around in the first round of the playoffs when they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday night or Lurie's message may change.

Personal feelings aside and regardless of the embarrassing ending to the 2023 regular season, it's hard to imagine that Sirianni is in the hot seat after leading the Birds to a 34–17 overall record and three straight playoff berths, including a Super Bowl appearance, since he came to Philly in 2021.
