There might be concern about how Brock Purdy will bounce back from his Christmas Day nightmare against the Baltimore Ravens, but there should be no lingering worries about the San Francisco 49ers quarterback's health heading into the Week 17 matchup with the Washington Commanders.

Having suffered a recurrence of a stinger in the second half of the Niners' 33-19 primetime loss, Purdy practiced in full for a second straight day.

Asked about his shoulder in his Thursday press conference, Purdy said: "It's been good, got a lot of treatment done on it and everything, sort of just work out the soreness within the whole shoulder area, feels good, I'll be good for this game."

Injury report observations

Purdy may be good to go, but there is set to be more change on the offensive line in front of him.

He has had to get used to that in 2023, with injuries meaning the identity of the guards on the interior line has changed consistently. This week, Aaron Banks looks unlikely to play after again missing practice with a toe injury, meaning Jon Feliciano will likely pivot to left guard with Spencer Burford manning the same spot on the right.

Feliciano has proven himself dependable at both guard spots this season, but another alteration to the lineup is far from ideal against a Washington front led by two excellent defensive tackles in Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen.

Swing tackle Jaylon Moore remains in the concussion protocol, pointing to him also being unavailable, but there is no sign All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams will miss out after a second successive day of limited practice.

It seems a foregone conclusion that Arik Armstead will miss a fourth straight game with knee and foot injuries, while Logan Ryan appears poised to deputize for rookie safety Ji'Ayir Brown after he was again absent with a knee sprain. In an encouraging sign, Brown was at least seen working on a side field, suggesting the injury might not be the long-term issue the 49ers feared.

Elijah Mitchell's second consecutive day of full practice looks increasingly important with the news Jordan Mason was added to the injury report through illness. Mitchell has missed the last three games but would be the backup running back to Christian McCaffrey, who rested on Thursday, if Mason can't go.

Third-string tight end Ross Dwelley was expected to return to action this week, but appears to have suffered a setback after being listed as DNP.
