The Philadelphia Eagles made three more roster moves ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

On Saturday, the team officially activated cornerback Avonte Maddox from Injured Reserve. Similar to last week, they also called up linebacker Brandon Smith from the practice squad for extra depth at the position.

With their third move, the Eagles placed tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, which opened up a spot on the 53-man roster for Maddox.

The Eagles have been without Maddox since he injured his pec in Week 2 and underwent surgery.

Injuries have certainly derailed Maddox's career, keeping him to just 15 games in two seasons, but when he's available, his presence is known.

The Eagles' secondary has struggled this year — especially in the slot — which is Maddox's specialty.

Maddox has been with the Eagles since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NF Draft. In six seasons with the Birds, he's logged 188 solo tackles, 58 assists, 3.0 sacks, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions.

While Maddox is officially active again, expect the Eagles to ease him back in on Sunday before he is back to handling his normal workload.
