Rooting for the Dallas Cowboys?

A Philadelphia Eagles fan could never… expect for Saturday night against the Detroit Lions.

Dallas came up huge for the Eagles, gifting them a late Christmas gift: a 20-19 win over the Lions which guarantees the Birds the No. 2 seed in the NFL playoffs.

The Cowboys' Week 17 victory also keeps the Eagles in play for the No. 1 seed.

And if the Eagles win their final two games against the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants then they win the NFC East.

If the Eagles lose, they likely lose out on the NFC East title and will miss their shot at the No. 1 seed.

But no matter what, they'll have the No. 2 seed, which isn't all that bad and gives them a home-field advantage until the NFC Championship.

Now, Eagles fans need to root for the San Francisco 49ers to lose.
