Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has made it very clear that he is not happy.
The Birds' top wideout refused to speak to the media following the Eagles' win over the New York Giants in Week 16 and he denied them again this past Sunday in their loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
"I’m not about to talk. There’s nothing to talk about," Brown said before turning back to say that his frustrations have nothing to do with the media.
Brown was held to only four catches for 53 yards in the Eagles' 35-31 loss to Arizona.
He was targeted once in the second half, leaving many to rightfully believe that he's upset with the coaching staff.
Head coach Nick Sirianni addressed Brown's frustration during Monday's press conference.
"You know, obviously I don’t want to speak for him," Sirianni said. "But you know, obviously when you have a dynamic playmaker like [Eagles WR] A.J. [Brown], he’s going to want to change the game at all times and he’s capable of doing that at all times.
"And so again, I don’t want to speak for him, but obviously we’re all frustrated. We’re all frustrated right now, especially coming off that loss yesterday. And so you want to be able to have fun. You want to be able to do all these things, and you know, that football brings, but sometimes it’s hard to have fun and hard to find the enjoyment when you’re in a rut like we are."
Brown hasn't scored a touchdown in the last five games for the first time in his career. He also hasn't reached over 100 receiving yards since Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers.
And that's not his fault when he isn't getting the amount of targets that he deserves.
"He’s always going to want to change the game because he knows he’s capable and that’s just him being the playmaker he is," Sirianni said. "I know this, and I said this to you guys on the record, off the record, all — everything, that there’s nobody that is as good of a teammate. There is nobody that’s as good of a person as [Eagles WR] A.J. [Brown] and shoot, he’s one of our very best players and one of our best players since I’ve been here in the past three years."
Then why continue to ignore him in the gameplan?
