Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman strikes again.
Just days away from the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline, the Eagles have made a deal with the Tennessee Titans.
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, Philly is sending a 2024 fifth and sixth-round pick and safety Terrell Edmunds to Tennessee in exchange for All-Pro defensive back Kevin Byard.
Russini had reported over the weekend that Roseman was "working the phones" for a safety and it didn't take him long to find the perfect one.
Byard, 30, is a two-time First Team All-Pro safety and two-time Pro Bowler. The former third-round pick of the 2016 NFL has played in a total of 120 career games, logging 674 combined tackles, four sacks, 63 passes defensed and 27 interceptions.
The Philadelphia native will make an immediate impact in the Eagles secondary which has been banged up since the start of the season.
His new teammate and fellow defensive back, Darius Slay, approves of the move:
This isn't the first deal that Howie has done with the Titans. Last offseason, the Eagles acquired wide receiver A.J. Brown from Tennessee by sending them a first and third-round pick.
Byard now reunites with Brown and Julio Jones in Philly.
