Tennessee Vols quarterback Joe Milton rushed for 34 yards in UT's 20-13 win against the Texas A&M Aggies last weekend.
One of Milton's runs in the second half featured the 240 lb quarterback lowering his shoulder and destroying a Texas A&M linebacker.
Milton recently joined "The O'Rylie Show", which is hosted by Rylie West, a Tennessee softball player, and he talked about his decision to deliver the hit stick on a tough run against the Aggies.
According to Milton, it's because Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper was talking some trash during a previous play.
"Before that play, a couple of plays before that, number 45 was talking a whole bunch of trash to me, trying to get me out my game," said Milton. "And I told him, when I catch you, I'ma drop you. And we [were] running to the sideline, I knew I had the first already, so I was trying to get out of bounds so I can get the next play. And I just saw a four and a five and I said, bet, I'm just gonna run through him. So I did. And I got up and said a little trash talk."
It sounds like a defender talking trash to Milton is an extremely poor decision. Which is why Vols fans should hope that Alabama players are talking trash to Milton on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa. Because if they are, Milton clearly won't be afraid to lower his shoulder and do some damage.
