The Philadelphia Eagles announced some roster moves on Wednesday ahead of their Week 8 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

Philly signed defensive tackle Noah Elliss and linebacker Brandon Smith to their practice squad and released cornerback Tiawan Mullen in a corresponding move.

The other open spot became available after the Carolina Panthers poached offensive guard Brett Toth from their practice squad.

Smith, a former 2022 fourth-round pick out of Penn State by the Panthers, has yet to see any action this season. During his rookie year, he played in 12 games, primarily on special teams, and logged eight tackles. His season was cut short with an ankle injury.

As for Elliss, he is the younger brother to Eagles' linebacker Christian Elliss. He had previously bounced on and off of the practice squad and spent training camp with the Birds.

Ellis' dad, Luther Elliss, also played defensive tackle in the NFL, and his other brother, Kaden Elliss, is currently a linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons.

In case you somehow missed it, the Eagles also traded for All-Pro safety Kevin Byard earlier this week, which is a huge addition to their beat-up secondary.
