CeeDee Lamb is chasing career catch No. 300 on Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys return to AT&T Stadium to host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8.

The Cowboys wide receiver has a unique chance to cement himself in franchise history and potentially one-up legends Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant, and Drew Pearson. While he's got a long way to go to reach the status of the other members of the No. 88 club, he can claim a slice of bragging rights on Sunday.

Why? Lamb needs six catches against the Rams to reach 300 career receptions. Per the team's PR team, that would make Lamb the "fastest Cowboys receiver to reach 300 career receptions (56 games)."

Lamb would also become the 17th wideout since 2000 to surpass 300 career catches in 56 games.

CeeDee is likely to get the targets. The Cowboys' WR1 has lobbied for more looks his way, something that paid off in Week 7 when he caught seven passes in seven targets for 117 yards. All of his catches moved the chains.

He's also made it worth it for the Cowboys, as he's caught 81% of his targets, the second most among wide receivers with a minimum of 30 targets. Lamb also ranks 14th in the league in passer rating when targeted.

What will be tougher for Lamb to achieve is reaching the 4,000-career mark in receiving yards. He needs 129 receiving yards to reach the milestone. But Bob Hayes has him beaten on that one, as he reached such a number in 52 games. Lamb would become the second-fastest receiver in franchise history to reach the milestone.

It's clear that the Cowboys offense must target Lamb at a high rate to be an efficient unit, even if that means force-feeding him at times. As Dez Bryant pointed out following the loss to the San Francisco 49ers, it's why they put No. 88 on his back.

On Sunday, CeeDee has a unique chance to get six catches and more as he'll face the 17th pass defense in the NFL per dropback EPA/play. Last week, the Rams allowed 107 yards from the Steelers' George Pickens and 79 from Diontae Johnson.
