The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the practice window for multiple players on injured reserve over the past few weeks.

First it was Diontae Johnson (who has since been activated), then Anthony McFarland, and finally Cam Heyward.

Now the latter has officially returned:

Captain Cam

Heyward has been out of the lineup and off the field since Week 1. Cam underwent surgery to repair a torn adductor, an injury and rehab process that typically takes anywhere between 8-10 weeks to recover from.

Well, as Heyward predicted, he would return sooner, getting back on the practice field only seven weeks post-surgery. Heyward told us on his podcast that he has a history of recovering from injury quicker than most, and even at in is mid-30s he proved that to be true.

Heyward also told reporters that he was dealing with a core muscle injury prior to Week 1, potentially causing more of the issues that led to the tear.

Regardless, it;s good to see him officially back.
