NASHVILLE — With a 2-4 record heading into the bye week and the season beginning to unravel, it's time for the Tennessee Titans to take a look in the mirror and evaluate themselves.

After a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in London on Sunday, Titans star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was quick to call for a "reevaluation" of the team.

Simmons, a vocal leader in the Titans locker room, suggested that Tennessee needs to figure out which players don't want to be on the field right now to get things back on the right track.

"We need to figure something out," said Simmons in the locker room postgame. "We need to figure out the guys who are going to fight. We need to figure out the guys who want to be out there, not the guys that don't want to be out there. That's what it needs to be. We need to reevaluate our team and figure it out. That's the message. Let's figure it out. Who wants to play football for the Titans?"

Does Simmons think the Titans have a roster to turn things around? "I would hope so. We've got a long season ahead," said Simmons.

Do the Titans have players on the roster that don't care to be out there? At this point, it definitely wouldn't surprise me. Tennessee has played uninspiring football through six games and have continuously failed to correct mistakes.

Whether it be allowing explosive pass plays, drive-killing penalties, stopping the run, staying in rush lanes, converting on 3rd down, or scoring touchdowns on red zone trips. It's the same old story just about every week. That either happens because of a lack of talent or a lack of good coaching. Perhaps both.

Simmons didn't mince words on Sunday, and he was absolutely right. If you don't want to be out there wearing the two-tone blue, you might as well go sit at home. The margin for error moving forward is nonexistent.

The bye week presents the Titans with an opportunity to get healthy, reassess where they are as a team, and come back with more toughness and identity. That starts with looking in the mirror.

If they fail to do that, it might be a long couple of weeks leading up to the NFL's trade deadline in Nashville.
