Positive moments are few and far between for Carolina Panthers rookie Bryce Young.

But in Sunday's 42-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Young had more than his fair share of quality moments.

Young went 23-for-38 on passes. He racked up 217 passing yards and threw for a touchdown while leading the Panthers to an early 14-0 lead.

Though the Panthers eventually flamed out, and the Dolphins scored 35 unanswered points, Panthers head coach Frank Reich still walked away from the game feeling good about where Young is in his development through six weeks of the NFL season.

“I think he’s getting better every week,” Reich said. "He was seeing the field really well, particularly in the first half. But the offense overall  has to be better."

What helped Young on Sunday was he mitigated the turnover bug that bit him in recent weeks. He didn't force throws, and he played within his range of abilities.

Through his previous starts, Young has attempted to do too much at times. It appears that in a simplified offense, the rookie quarterback is doing less thinking and more doing — which is exactly what the Panthers needed to see.
