It was not all good news for the Cleveland Browns coming out of the Week 6 victory against the San Francisco 49ers.
Cleveland may have lost a starting linebacker for their Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, which happens to be his former team.
Anthony Walker Jr. exited in the third quarter against the 49ers and was later ruled out with a head injury. Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Monday that he is in the concussion protocol.
Left guard Joel Bitonio did not play against the 49ers and it was Michael Dunn starting in his place. Dunn did not miss a snap and fought through a calf injury all game.
“I mean, the way he fought through his injury, he wouldn't come out of the game and you can see it on tape that he was fighting. In the run game, in the pass game, he's a guy that we trust so much,” Stefanski explained. He's played well when we put him in there. He is an awesome teammate, just an all-around good person. We're really pleased that he's a member of the Browns."
The calf injury is something to watch throughout the week. Good news could be on the horizon for Bitonio.
"That knee continues to get better," Stefanski said. “Hopefully we'll see him out at practice Wednesday."
Cleveland will play in Indianapolis in Week 7 at 1 p.m. Between now and then, the Browns have some injury situations to figure out.
