The Buffalo Bills' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars was made that much worse with the recent announcement from head coach Sean McDermott. Fans were eagerly awaiting an injury update on Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones, it's not looking good.

Sean McDermott, opening up to the media on the injuries, confirmed that both stars would require surgery. While it doesn't guarantee they will miss the entire season, it's looking like that's going to be the case.

Buffalo has now lost three premiere defenders for the season in a span of two weeks. All-Pro CB Tre'Davious White was lost to an Achilles injury that ended his season against the Dolphins. Now, both Milano and Jones add to that list.

Milano has been a rockstar on the defense and has truly been a difference-maker since winning the starting job at linebacker. He is one of the premiere off-ball defenders in the entire league and his absence single-handily will hurt the team's chances at winning their first-ever Super Bowl.

Jones is a recent addition from McDermott but has been shining this season. In fact, statistically, he has been one of the best defensive linemen across the entire league. It goes without saying how brutal his injury is to this team that is already struggling mightily against the run.

The Bills mafia will be none too thrilled with the latest update as all they've received is word that Milano and Jones could be gone for the season, or they may not be. The fanbase is hanging by a thread waiting for an update that may never come. For right now, both stars our out indefinitely with no timeline for return.

To add further insult to injury, McDermott announced that TE Dalton Kincaid was in the concussion protocol and Dawson Knox was dealing with a wrist injury. While it's early, it will be something to monitor throughout the week for their availability in the upcoming contest against the Giants.

McDermott has had a philosophy of "next-man-up" since he arrived in Buffalo and that will be put to the test after three significant injuries to the defensive side of the football. With McDermott now calling plays, his job was just made a whole lot more difficult.
