The Philadelphia Eagles will welcome back starting linebacker Nakobe Dean to practice this week, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Dean was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury he sustained in Week 1 against the New England Patriots.

The Eagles have a 21-day window to activate Dean as early as Sunday to the 53-man roster or sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Before his early exit against New England, Dean played 49 defensive snaps and made 7 tackles (4 solo).

Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham did a good job stepping up in his absence.

Cunningham leads the linebackers with 33 tackles and has one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one fumble recovery.

Morrow isn't too far behind him with 21 tackles, six tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, three sacks, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

While the Eagles have been doing just fine without Dean, his return will be huge as they get ready to head into the tougher part of their 2023 regular-season schedule later this month.
