The Denver Broncos made national headlines with their decision to part ways with LB Randy Gregory. While the decision was mutual, the team spent a lot of money bringing him in last offseason.

Unfortunately, when the smoke has settled and the dust has cleared, he wasn't on the field nearly enough for the team and saw his playtime dwindling this season as well, another reason the team decided to part ways.

Mike Klis from 9News reported another roster decision that could be an indicator of why the team had moved on from Gregory. As he reported, OLB Baron Brwoning is to be activated off the PUP list and is set to begin practicing this week.

Browning is recovering from a meniscus tear back in May but has been working to get back on the field. From the looks of it, it'll be much sooner than anticipated. While there are question marks swirling about his availability for the Jets, we agree with Klis' sentiment that it's highly unlikely.

The Broncos defensive line is sub-par to be polite and the defense as a whole is in the bottom tier of the NFL. Most of that can be attributed to crushing injuries that have impacted their ability to not only cover defenders but also get after the quarterback.

Outside of Browning, the team also announced a slew of players that would be returning to practice.

Outside of the other players returning to practice, getting Browning back after losing Gregory will give this team a huge boost in their efforts to clean things up on the defensive side of the football. Fresh off their first victory of the season, the team continues to get more good news than bad.

Health will be the biggest factor in the long-term success of the team this season. For all intents and purposes, it looks like Russell Wilson has remembered how to play football at a high level, all that's left is to get a little help from the defense.

We're still not thrilled at the 1-3 record, but things are improving and the Broncos fans should still hold onto that glimmer of hope that this team will be able to compete at a high level.

The season is long, there is plenty of time to right the ship.
