The chatter surrounding Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada has never been louder.

So as much as players and coaches say they don't listen to outside noise, when the fodder is deafening, it seeps in.

Well Pro Bowl RB Naee Harris has had enough:

'We're Not Trying To Point The Finger At All'

“I see everybody talking about this coaching staff, about play calling," Najee told the media on Wednesday. “But bruh, do you all know how football works? Coaches coach but we gotta execute the plays. We’re not trying to point the finger at all. This is not the time to do that either…

"…That has nothing to do with coaches. It’s just players. We have to play better, you know what I mean? We can’t just keep looking at the coaches as an outlet or whatever y’all putting out there as outlets. It’s just stupid what you all are doing, really.”

Here's the thing, Harris is undoubtedly right. An offensive line that was supposed to pick up where they left off last year is struggling mightily. They are down their #1 WR, and the second-year QB that was supposed to take a step forward has all but regressed.

But all of that is independent of what Matt Canada is doing to this offense. And it makes sense coming from Harris. Not only is Canada his coach, but his exposure to other offenses around the NFL is limited.

Harris only knows what he knows. But if he pops on the offensive tape of even a team like Baltimore, you will see a scheme that makes Canada's offense look like he designed it on an Etch A Sketch

So yes, the players need to play better. The buck stops with them. But the struggles start at the top, making Canada easy bait, no matter how much Harris wants to let him off the hook.
