Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase turned heads when he said "I'm always f*cking open" following a 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans. But it was Chase's head that turned when head coach Zac Taylor called him in for a meeting the next day.

Instead of chastising Chase for the viral comment, Taylor offered some profanity of his own in support of his No. 1 receiver. Chase told reporters Thursday that he had never heard his head coach cuss before and he was relieved.

It's shocking to hear one of the prominent players on an NFL team say he's never heard his head coach utter a curse word three years into his career, but Chase is also notoriously candid. Look no further than the quote that sparked this whole thing.

Based on the way Taylor talked about Chase's quote earlier in the week, it matches up with how Chase said the surprise meeting went.

"I thought Ja'Marr's [quote] was outstanding," Taylor said on Monday. "When you watch the two-and-a-half minutes he spoke, it's real leadership. … I didn't totally understand the question he got asked, I don't know how I would've answered that. It just shows the confidence he has. … I love that. That's confidence from one of our best players, I thought he showed great leadership in his whole two-and-a-half minute response."

The Bengals have plenty to be concerned about. They're 1-3 on the year with an offense that is severely underperforming. Those on-field issues can spiral into the locker room before long, but leadership appears to remain strong from both the players and coaches side.

Who knows, maybe some more F-bombs from Taylor can spark a run here.
