The Miami Dolphins will be without an anchor on its offensive line for at least the next four weeks.

LT Terron Armstead is reportedly being placed on injured reserve on Friday, per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Pelissero indicates the injury is not expected to be season ending.  By making the move now, the Dolphins can also activate Armstead as early as Week 9 for a game that might have a few folks' interest around not just the country, but also the world.

Armstead will miss the Dolphins' matchups with the Giants and Panthers at home, at the Eagles, and against New England at home.  Aside from the trip to Philadelphia, that's not exactly a murderer's row of games he's missing.

Armstead got rolled up from behind on his knee against Buffalo after Bills DL DaQuan Jones beat C Liam Eichenberg and clipped the Dolphins' left tackle while trying to get to Tua Tagovailoa.

Kendall Lamm finished the game in his absence.  Lamm started off the season strong in place of Armstead, so the hope is that he can step back in and continue that high level of play while Armstead recovers.

It's definitely a big plus that Armstead will appear to be able to return for a November and December stretch run for the division.  With the Jets (twice), Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills all on the second half of the schedule after the Chiefs and the bye week, the Dolphins will need all the help they can get to keep Tagovailoa upright and running the Miami offense as effectively as he has been.
