The San Francisco 49ers on Thursday announced their full schedule for their 2024 training camp.

Veterans will report on July 23 for a camp that features 10 practices open to the public at the 49ers' performance facility adjacent to Levi's Stadium.

Here is the full schedule of open practices:

  • Thursday, July 25
  • Friday, July 26
  • Monday, July 29
  • Tuesday, July 30
  • Wednesday, July 31
  • Friday, August 2
  • Saturday, August 3
  • Sunday, August 4
  • Tuesday, August 6
  • Wednesday, August 7 (Dwight Clark Day)

Training camp is fast approaching with the news cycle for the 49ers still dominated by their contract impasse with All-Pro receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Aiyuk skipped voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp, protecting himself against any injury that might impact protracted talks over the long-term extension he is seeking.

There is less incentive for him to hold out of training camp. Under the collective bargaining agreement, players tied to rookie contracts, as Aiyuk still is, are subject to daily fines of $40,000 for not attending training camp.

Still, Aiyuk could do go down that road, as Nick Bosa did last year, if a deal is not agreed by the start of camp.

Should that happen and Aiyuk is not on the field for any of those open practices, the saga will become substantially more public, with his absence sure to the dominant topic in any media availabilities.

The 49ers won't want it come to that, but negotiations need to accelerate sooner rather than later if they are to avoid such a scenario.
