Howie Roseman Does It Again
Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles did it again.
By being proactive and signing both of their star receivers to contract extensions in April, they've set them up for long-term financial success.
The Eagles first signed DeVonta Smith to a three-year, $75 million contract extension with $51 million guaranteed. He will make $25 million annually now.
After Smith signed his contract, A.J. Brown came knocking for more money and the Eagles played it smart by not turning him away.
Brown agreed to a three-year, $96 million extension, including $84 million guaranteed. His $32 million annually was the highest for any wide receiver at the time.
But that's no longer the case with Jefferson's $35 million per year average surpassing his. And that's okay with the Eagles.
Here's a look at the eight wide receivers who received massive paydays this offseason so far:
- Minnesota Vikings' Justin Jefferson: $35M
- Philadelphia Eagles' A.J. Brown: $32M
- Detroit Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: $30M
- Miami Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: $28.3M
- Philadelphia Eagles' DeVonta Smith: $25M
- Houston Texans' Nico Collins: $24.3M
- Indianapolis Colts' Michael Pittman Jr.:$23.3M
- Tennessee Titans' Calvin Ridley: $23M
Dallas Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb, along with Cincinnati Bengals' JaMarr Chase and Tee Higgins are still waiting on their big paydays.
