A former Tennessee Vols defender is gaining some surprise momentum at mandatory Tennessee Titans minicamp this week.

Former Vols cornerback Gabe Jeudy-Lally, who was signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2024 NFL Draft, is making the most of his chances during minicamp in Nashville.

According to A to Z Sports' Austin Stanley, who was present at Titans minicamp on Tuesday, Jeudy-Lally received significant reps on the first day of mandatory minicamp.

During one rep, according to Stanley, Jeudy-Lally broke up a back-shoulder pass from quarterback Will Levis that was intended for DeAndre Hopkins.

One reason Jeudy-Lally received a significant amount of reps on Tuesday is because Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who was acquired via a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason, didn't practice (though he was present).

Sneed's had some knee issues in the past and the Titans aren't trying to overwork him early in the offseason.

As for Jeudy-Lally, it looks like the former Vol has a legitimate chance to make an impact for the Titans. It's always an uphill battle for undrafted free agents to make a 53-man roster, but Jeudy-Lally, who spent time at Vanderbilt before transferring to BYU and then Tennessee, is putting himself in a good position to stick on the Titans' roster. It's worth noting, however, that it's still very early in the offseason.

Jeudy-Lally spent one season at Tennessee, totaling 41 tackles (including four tackles for loss), one sack, and one interception. One of his biggest games for the Vols last season came against Kentucky when he totaled seven tackles in a 33-27 win in Lexington.

The Titans have two days of minicamps remaining this week.
