‘It could have been the play of training camp’ – It took Chris Brazzell one practice to show everyone that he’s a star
Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Chris Brazzell made quite an impression on the first day of Carolina Panthers training camp.
Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Chris Brazzell showed off his electric skillset on the first day of Carolina Panthers training camp.
Brazzell, a third-round selection by the Panthers in the 2026 NFL Draft, made an incredible leaping catch on a ball that was practically behind his head.
Carolina defensive back Mike Jackson pulled Brazzell out of bounds so the pass was technically incomplete, but that didn’t really matter.
“Brazzell made one of those plays where it could have been the play of training camp, it just happened to be an incomplete pass,” said Panthers senior writer Darin Gannt.
“He had made a great play today, got up in the air,” said Panthers head coach Dave Canales. “Mike Jack on the sideline carried him out of bounds, and so beautiful play on both guys. The high point, 6-foot-4 guy running down the field like we thought he could, and then of course the veteran Mike Jack just kind of carrying him out of bounds, in a very legal way. It was a brilliant play. But, I love that he brings that element to our offense.”
“I believe that can open things up for TMac, for Coker, for Xavier, and when Chris gets his chance, as he tells us he’s ready for roles, we’ll continue to give him roles,” added Canales. “So I’m excited for him this camp.”
It’s just day one of training camp — there will inevitably be some growing pains for Brazzell — but the talent is undeniable.
It’s going to be fun to watch Brazzell develop in Carolina.
