The Kansas City Chiefs are returning to Frankfurt, Germany in 2024, but not for a game like they did last season.
The Chiefs faced the Miami Dolphins in Week 9 of the 2023 NFL season, defeating their opponent 21-14 in Deutsche Bank Park. They won't travel abroad for an international game in 2024, but they recently announced they will be returning to Frankfurt in June.
On the back of their Super Bowl LVIII win, the Chiefs are set to unveil a new two-day pop-up activation for fans called the "ChampionsHaus." This exhibit will be on display at the Museum of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt on Friday, June 21, and on Saturday, June 22. The goal is to provide fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in Chiefs Kingdom.
On Friday, June 21, two-time Super Bowl champion S Justin Reid will be hosting a special grand opening meet-and-greet session.
“I am so excited to return to Germany this summer and especially honored to be a part of the grand opening of the ChampionsHaus,” Reid said, via press release. “Last season was my first time in Frankfurt, and it did not disappoint. I thought the food was excellent, the people were incredible and the environment at our game at Deutsche Bank Park felt like a Super Bowl atmosphere. Absolutely electric! I can’t wait for another opportunity to engage with more Chiefs fans and bring Chiefs Kingdom back to Germany.”
Reid will participate in a live Q&A session with Nadine Nurasyid, a former American football player from Germany, who is the current Defensive Assistant Coach for the Stuttgart Surge in the European League of Football. Ticketed fans who join on Friday will have an opportunity to meet and take pictures with Reid. He'll also take part in a special meet-and-greet session for military families in coordination with the USO.
Fans who attend either day will have numerous photo opportunities, including a chance to take a photo with the Lombardi Trophy. KC Wolf will be in attendance. They'll also have a chance to win Chiefs merch in raffles and take part in other activities.
"The German fanbase and the city of Frankfurt welcomed us with open arms last season, and we are thrilled to have Justin Reid returning with us to bring the ChampionsHaus activation to life for fans later this month," Chiefs Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lara Krug said, via press release. "We have focused on connecting with Chiefs Kingdom in Germany, and fans and businesses alike have responded with excitement and passion for our team, our players and our brand. As the NFL continues to expand its global footprint, it is important that we remain active in Germany, even in years when we aren’t scheduled to play in the market.”
