The Tennessee Titans have a whole new set of playmakers impressing this spring in OTAs. Calvin Ridley headlines that group, and is well aware that expectations are high for him. However, it doesn't seem like any of that pressure is really getting to him. And he's having no problem at all getting plugged in with his new home.

A to Z Sports and a few other local Nashville area media members were able to catch up with Calvin Ridley after Wednesday's practice to learn more about his relationship with Will Levis and talk with him about how well he's living up to expectations with head coach Brian Callahan and the whole coaching staff.

Calvin Ridley's relationship with Will Levis

Ridley had shared some brief thoughts on Levis with media before today, but as OTAs progress its seems as though he's beginning to like Will Levis even more as a person than he does as a football player.

"Will's real cool, man. I didn't know him at all. He's just a real cool guy. Forget all the ball. I like being around him. It's easy to be around him, talk to him. I just met him, but it feels real comfortable. That's the biggest thing for me."

It means a lot when quarterback and wide receiver can build a relationship that goes beyond the football field. Clear mutual respect can go a long way towards staying in sync when things get intense in the middle of an NFL game.

Calvin Ridley living up to expectations

New head coach Brian Callahan shared his thoughts specifically pertaining to Ridley when he stepped up to the podium on Wednesday, calling him "everything we wanted him to be" thus far. It looks like general manager Ran Carthon has done it again in finding a free agent signing that fits well with the Titans.

"[Calvin Ridley]'s everything that we thought he would be. It's always exciting when you sign a guy in free agency, and you hope, but you don't always know. You go by what you hear, what you see. It's always good when a guy gets in the building and you see he's everything that you expect him to be. He's a great pro. He's a phenomenal person to be around. He's incredibly talented. You can see his speed and his burst when you watch him on the field. I think he's really going to help us. He's a pro's pro. He prepares. He works hard. He loves playing football. And those are the things you hope for."

Calvin Ridley's syncing up with Will Levis, impressing coaches, and looking explosive and bursty in OTA practices every day. All great signs of what could come from him this fall. And as Ridley shared in the second portion of his video interview, he's happy that the team believes he's living up to the high expectations. And he's ready to prove any doubters wrong.

"It's very important. Obviously you want your [employer] to like you…but I was never worried about that part of it. I love to compete. I went to Alabama. I come out here. I'll prove it…I'm ready to do what I gotta do. And prove [to] whoever, but really to my team and the organization [that I'm good]…I have no worries about being good."

Calvin Ridley ranks 20th in receiving yards per game among all NFL wide receivers to enter the league since 2010, so there's likely no reason for anyone to have doubts about him succeeding once he hits the field in the two-tone blue this fall.
