Last recruiting cycle, Ohio State went out and landed the No. 1 wide receiver and Jeremiah Smith is now preparing to make an impact in a few months.

Now in the 2025 recruiting class, the Buckeyes are again trying to go after the top wideout.

Dakorien Moore recently committed from LSU and already has three official visits lined up with the first one starting in Columbus.

Moore will visit Ohio State on May 31 and wait two weeks then visit Texas on June 14 and Oregon on June 21. Following the decommitment from LSU, all three teams believe they have a shot at landing Moore. According to the 247 Composite, Moore is the No. 3 overall recruit in the class of 2025.

Brian Hartline currently has one receiver commit in the class with De’Zie Jones, a four-star out of New Jersey. Every year we see Hartline go after the big fish and normally hit. Recent success from wideouts at Ohio State getting drafted to the NFL definitely has an impact on the trail and should with Moore too.

Moore is a talented wideout who can do it all. He can make a defense pay with his run after the catch or he can be a deep threat. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, the five-star wide receiver doesn’t have superb size but he is a constant separator. Moore may get to the NFL no matter where he goes because he is just that good, but being developed by Hartline could be something not replicable.

It seems as if we may not see a commitment until July at least with June visits to get out of the way. Ohio State will get his first visit and they have to make it count. It’ll take a recruiting win over Texas and Oregon to get Moore, but it can be done. If the Buckeyes can convince Moore to come to Columbus, they’d be in line for at least two years of Smith and Moore on the field together.
