Fans are anxiously awaiting the release of EA's College Football '25, which is making it's return after an 11-year hiatus. The game will be released on July 19th.
While there are numerous different features that should have all fans excited, there are some that will not be present.
Here is what not to expect:
- No cross-platform development on online dynasty
**Sony's opened up cross-platform development since 2019
- No ESPN presentation (Scoreboard)
- No high school in Road To Glory
- No Mascot Mashup
- No Gus Johnson/Joel Klatt
Yet, while these features will not be available, here are the ones that are.
Campus IQ
This is a new feature in the game that "brings to life the true depth of college football through wide open, fast-paced gameplay across all 134 FBS schools in all areas of the game."
- Wear & Tear System: "As the hits add up, players wear down with the Wear & Tear System. Manage your players’ health, limit fatigue, assess risk of injury, and avoid on-field mistakes by using strategic substitutions to ensure your players are at their best when it counts the most."
- Pre-Snap Recognition: "Pre-Snap Recognition makes the decision behind every snap matter more. Do you trust in your high-skill seniors, or take a risk with your untested freshman? Read the game, then read your players to make the right decision when the game is on the line."
- Homefield Advantage: "Game-altering homefield advantages rattle your rivals in college football's toughest places to play. Test your squad’s road game composure and confidence levels as you play through distractions like screen shaking, missing pre-play icons, and moving play art."
Team Builder
While there are 134 teams in the game, players can also create their own school, customizing the logo, name, field, stadium, and roster.
Dynasty Mode
Players get the opportunity to be the head coach of any team and transform the program. You get to pick between different coaching styles and skill trees, but now the added bonus is recruiting. Players can recruit high school prospects, but that's not all. Get ready for the transfer portal to be involved. And the goal is to earn a spot in the new 12-team College Football Playoff
Road to Glory
You will get to be one custom player and the end goal is to win the Heisman Trophy. Players will be in charge of managing their weekly schedule, GPA, image, along with earning playing time. The transfer portal will also be involved.
Road to College Football Playoff
This is another new mode. Here's how they describe it in the press release: “Experience a new way to play competitively across consoles in the Road to the College Football Playoff. Will you represent your university, or take a power school to climb the polls? Earn rank by upsetting the toughest opponents and securing the votes you need to progress and level up divisions. Play your way into the playoffs and battle for the National Championship.”
College Football Ultimate Team
Here's how they describe it in the press release: "Build your dream team of college football stars and legends. Play Solo Challenges or H2H Seasons to upgrade your squad and take on the toughest contests. Test your skills across consoles in more competitive formats like College Football Ultimate Team™ Champs and Champs Gauntlet."
