The Houston Texans had one of the best offenses in the league last year, and it may be the best passing game in the league when you look at what they did in the playoffs against the Cleveland Browns. Of course, a large reason was the stud quarterback, C.J. Stroud.

However, it was not just the team's collective effort that led to their success. Individual players like Nico Collins and Tank Dell showcased their impressive skills, as did Dalton Schultz and others. But it was Collins' standout performance that truly caught the attention of the entire league.

Collins was a receiver everyone knew could be elite; it was just about the right situation and when he would burst onto the scene that way. But he was elite last year and could have a top-five season in 2024. But that was just one year of the few in his career, whereas before, he didn't do that because of injuries, bad quarterback play, etc. But 2023 was so good that he earned himself a new payday with the Texans for a few more years.

Earlier this week, the Texans made a significant announcement. They signed Collins to a three-year contract extension, a testament to his exceptional performance and potential. The deal, worth $72.75 million, with $52 million guaranteed, is a well-deserved recognition of his talent and a commitment to his future with the team.

But, there is this thought from fans that when a player signs his first huge deal, he tends to take it easy after that. The thought is that the player then thinks his dream and job are done, and he can now coast and just do everything else halfway since his money is guaranteed.

That isn't the case for most players, and it certainly isn't for Collins. With Week 2 of the Texans' OTAs starting earlier this week, Collins attacked every drill as if he had never been paid and was trying to get that big contract. Then, he made a big-time play with C.J. Stroud, showing everyone why he deserves the money.

This offense can truly be unstoppable, and a big reason why is Collins, who will now only want to prove to everyone that he deserves the money.
