Deebo Samuel and Fred Warner were each given the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the San Francisco Giants' home opener on Friday, and they will remember it for very different reasons.

While wide receiver Samuel, who has a touchdown pass to his name in his NFL career, nailed his effort, All-Pro linebacker Warner sent his pitch skidding into the dirt, way wide of his catcher.

Samuel wasted no time in celebrating his successful pitch and, when the 49ers return to the facility to start their offseason workout program later this month, he will be able to bask in having the bragging rights over his teammate.

Punter Mitch Wishnowsky, however, did not have to worry about doing anything out of the ordinary.

Wishnowsky instead participated in the unusual event of a ceremonial 'first punt', sending a booming kick into McCovey Cove, much to the delight of the Oracle Park crowd.

Rarely has a punt been met with such enthusiasm. It's probably not something Wishnowsky should get used to, but Warner may have to get used to Samuel reminding him about their wildly contrasting pitches for some time to come.
