Georgia football has hired Anthony Mauro from Louisiana Tech as a personnel recruiter, according to a report from Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.
Mauro previously served as the Director of Player Personnel for LA Tech, joining the staff in July of 2022.
It marked Mauro's second stint with the program, as he served as the assistant director of recruiting for LA Tech from 2021-22. Between 2019-2021 he held the position of assistant linebackers coach at McNeese State.
In between his first and second stint at LA Tech, Mauro was at Fresno State, where he was responsible for managing the Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts, organizing on-campus visits and winning on the recruiting trail.
Mauro earned plenty of recognition in the Mountain West as the Bulldogs achieved the top recruiting class in the conference and the second-best recruiting class among all Group of Five schools in 2022, according to 247 Sports.
Currently in the midst of spring practice, Mauro is one part of a handful of changes the Bulldogs have made this offseason. Others include defensive backs coach Donte Williams (USC), Josh Crawford filling in as the running backs coach, Travaris Robinson as co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, and James Coley as the coach of the team's wide receivers.
It will be interesting to see if head coach Kirby Smart and company make any additional changes ahead of the fall schedule.
