The biggest game of the weekend will be played on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa when Georgia faces off against Alabama.

Well, the game will be played as long as Hurricane Isaias cooperates.

For now, and this could obviously change, it looks like Hurricane Isaias is going to move through early enough on Saturday that the game will be able to be played.

ESPN’s Rece Davis makes his prediction for the game

ESPN College GameDay host Rece Davis, an Alabama graduate, made his pick for the game this week.

Davis is a big believer in Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell, but he’s going with the Bulldogs in this matchup.

“Alabama is an explosive play waiting to happen, but they haven’t seen Georgia,” said Davis. “And I think the weather is a huge factor in this game, because while Alabama’s offensive line is much better — not more talented necessarily than last year, but much better and they blow fewer assignments, better coached, the whole thing — I don’t think they’re going to line up and be able to just run the ball. Alabama’s running game usually gets going after they’ve scared you to death and beaten you with Keelon Russell’s arm and those dangerous receivers and the tight ends.

“The weather plays into Georgia’s favor. Alabama’s defense has a ton of playmakers. They are also vulnerable to giving up a big play. It’s the old adage: When Alabama’s defense is on the field, somebody’s band is likely to play. Alabama’s got four pick-sixes, but they’ve also given up a ton of explosive plays. I like Georgia in this game right now. I do think — and all due respect to Gunnar Stockton, who is a really good player and a really good quarterback — that Alabama’s got the quarterback edge. But there are probably times on Saturday night that Georgia is going to make Keelon Russell look young. That, in fact, is the likelihood. I’m pretty comfortable saying that at the end of November, assuming good health and then continued development that we’ve seen, that Alabama’s going to have the best quarterback in the country by the end of the season. But this ain’t the end of the season, and this is the first time [Russell] has seen a defense like this. I’ll take Georgia to go on the road and win.”

Alabama and Georgia are scheduled to kick off at 6:30 PM CT/7:30 PM ET on Saturday night.
