One of the Tennessee Vols' top remaining 2025 recruiting targets — arguably their top remaining recruiting target — is taking a visit to South Carolina this weekend after visiting Knoxville in back-to-back weekends.

2025 five-star offensive lineman David Sanders Jr is one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation. The Vols are among the leaders for Sanders, but they're battling programs like Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio State.

South Carolina is hoping to become a bigger factor in Sanders' recruitment this weekend.

Sanders, who is from Charlotte, is visiting Columbia after spending two straight weekends in Knoxville. His visit to South Carolina this weekend was described by Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney as "one of the most intriguing visits of the weekend".

From Rivals.com: South Carolina is playing major catch-up with the five-star offensive tackle from Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day as Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio State seem to be battling it out most, so this weekend’s trip back to Columbia will be important. There is a lot to like in coach Shane Beamer’s program, early playing time would be very much in the cards with the Gamecocks and while there is room to make up, South Carolina can get majorly back in the picture after this weekend.

Ultimately, I'd be surprised if the Gamecocks end up becoming a major factor for Sanders. Though I don't blame them for swinging big. Columbia, after all, is closer to Charlotte than any of the other programs seriously in the mix for Sanders.

Still, it seems like this is a three-way battle between Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee. And while Clemson has been viewed as the early favorite, heading into the summer months it feels like each of those three programs have an equal chance of landing the five-star offensive tackle.
