Year in and year out, the Baltimore Ravens are in the race to compete in the AFC. The 2024 NFL season will be no different.

The main reason that the Ravens are in a position to compete these days and a main reason is because of the faces of the franchise.

I believe that we can all agree that quarterback Lamar Jackson and head coach Jim Harbaugh mean everything to this team. Recently, Bleacher Report named the quarterback-head coach duo as the No. 3 pairing in the NFL.

“Last offseason, Baltimore replaced Roman with Todd Monken, who opened up the passing game. Jackson finished the 2023 campaign with career highs in passing attempts (457), completions (307), and passing yards (3,678), winning his second MVP. With Jackson as the starter under Harbaugh, the Ravens have won 75 percent of their regular-season games.” – Maurice Moton, Bleacher Report

Jackson is an MVP contender each time out with the Ravens, as he is in his prime. There is not a more electric quarterback in the game that has the ability to hurt a defense with both his legs and arm. Even though Harbaugh does not call the plays for the offense, his choosing of each offensive coordinator has been money recently.

Harbaugh has a record of 172-109 while in Baltimore since the 2008 season. Harbaugh has won eight games in the playoffs for Baltimore and one of those came last year when they beat the Houston Texans before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship. Revenging that loss and getting to the next step, which is the Super Bowl, is the goal for the Ravens.

Jackson and Harbaugh are about to dive into their seventh season together in the NFL. All signs point toward the duo getting to the decade mark and that is not an easy number to hit for a quarterback and head coach duo.

Baltimore will once again be a top competitor to win the AFC North and it’ll be a gauntlet to do it. The Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers can all compete for the division.

If Jackson is healthy, the Ravens are going to be favored in the majority of their games. With the backing of his head coach, it makes a bunch of sense.
