The Pittsburgh Steelers have been noted as the league's best cultivators of WR talent.

With a scouting department that has an eye for playmakers and a coaching staff that molds them into significant threats, there is a rich history of star WRs in Pittsburgh.

And while George Pickens looks to be the next one in line for such a title, one analyst suggests shipping him out in favor of a made man at the same position:

George Pickens for CeeDee Lamb?

The star WR for the Dallas Cowboys has been absent from all team-related activities this offseason, including last week's mandatory minicamp as he searches for a new contract.

And while it would take a miracle for CeeDee Lamb to be anywhere but Dallas, Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report proposed four potential trades that the Cowboys would have to consider, including one from the Pittsburgh Steelers that would send a second-round pick and George Pickens to Dallas for the All-Pro:

Unlike the rookie receivers already mentioned, George Pickens is established in the NFL despite being just 23. Still, the Steelers could opt to maximize their weapons for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Because Pickens is coming off a 1,000-yard sophomore season, this would be slightly closer to a player-for-player deal, with Dallas saving money and gaining some draft capital and Pittsburgh doing everything in its power to get this right.

This move makes quite a lot of sense considering the Steelers are in better cap shape than the Cowboys. – Brad Gagnon, Bleacher Report

Here's the thing, if I'm Pittsburgh, I'm looking to add weapons, not take them away. The WR situation is one of the more lifeless in the league when analyzing the depth chart below Pickens.

So even if you think Lamb clears Pickens as an upgrade, it's still a one-for-one swap that would also cost Pittsburgh valuable draft capital.

And perhaps Lamb is a much better player. He has 3 Pro Bowls to Pickens' zero and is coming off a first-team All-Pro season in 2023.

But when you consider the offense that Pickens has played in at this point and how young he is, I believe he is just scratching the surface when it comes to what he can be in this league, making this idea way too far-fetched, and that's for both sides.
