The Ole Miss Rebels are currently in a tight race for 2025 linebacker Elijah Melendez.
Melendez, who has been committed to the University of Miami since December, ranks as the No. 9 linebacker in the country, according to On3. The Kissimmee, Florida, native has narrowed his list of schools down to four with Auburn and Oklahoma alongside the Rebels and Hurricanes.
Ole Miss hosted Melendez on an official visit last weekend and the word out of Oxford was that the Rebels had pulled even with Miami. Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding has spearheaded Melendez's recruitment which has tightened as of late.
Melendez was on a visit at Oklahoma this weekend and has an upcoming visit with Miami. That will be his final official visit before making a decision on where he will play next fall.
"After the visit to Miami, I will go home, sit down, take some time and make my final decision. All four schools are up there," Melendez told On3's Chad Simmons.
The Rebels have been stacking talent in its 2025 class. Ole Miss' 2025 recruiting class currently ranks 18th in the country, but Lane Kiffin and staff have multiple lines in the water as the Rebels look to land a few more big fish.
