While it was reported this weekend that Jason Kelce was making the move to ESPN, it seems things aren't completely set in stone just yet.

The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported earlier this week that Kelce was going to join ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown" this upcoming season. But he clarified all that with his wording about the news on his New Heights podcast.

"Yeah, nothing's been officially inked yet or announce yet. But obviously  there's been a lot of reports out there about me going to ESPN. And I think time will kind of take care of that," Kelce explained. "But it's a tremendous honor to even be considered to potentially work there. That network was everything that Travis and I watched growing up."

Kelce made his interest in TV broadcasting known when he tested the waters during the Eagles' Week 10 bye week in 2023 and appeared on Amazon Prime's "Thursday Night Football" show as a guest analyst.

To no surprise, Kelce looked like a natural and thoroughly enjoyed it.

"We were glued to the TV each and every day. So the fact that I may potentially, probably will be working there is pretty darn cool," Jason said. "I'm a talking head now officially. Well not officially. "

"Throughout the whole process of meeting and talking to everyone over at ESPN, it began apparent that it was really the right fit. At the end of the day, it is something that I'm really, really looking forward to this next phase," Jason added. "I know to some degree who I'm working with. And I think very, very highly of them. I'm excited to learn. I think that's the biggest thing. I know a lot about football, but not a lot about this work. So that's just another avenue to expand your knowledge, create relationships because that's what this business is all about."

Travis summed up what ESPN means to the brothers perfectly: "It fueled out love for sports… We used to live and die by ESPN on that tv growing up."

"Congrats to you man, and congrats to ESPN for getting a real one," Travis added.

In his initial report, Marchand added that CBS, NBC, and Prime Video were also heavily pursuing Kelce, however, ESPN won in the end. If he joins, he will work alongside "Monday Night Countdown" host Scott Van Pelt and analysts Marcus Spears, and Ryan Clark.
