The Philadelphia Eagles have found Jalen Hurts' new backup quarterback.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles are trading for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Schefter adds that in exchange for Pickett, the Eagles are sending their No. 98 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft and two 2025 seventh-round picks.

The Eagles' No. 98 selection was a compensatory pick gifted by the NFL this offseason after Philly lost Pro Bowl defensive tackle Javon Hargrave in free agency last year.

Pittsburgh signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson earlier this week, leaving Pickett out of a starting job and wanting to move on, per Schefter.

Meanwhile, the Eagles were in search of a new backup QB after letting Marcus Mariota walk in free agency.

Pickett, who was the Steelers' first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, leaves Pittsburgh with 24 NFL starts and 13 touchdown passes to his name.

While his career with the Steelers was unsatisfying, a fresh start with the team that he grew up cheering for a learning from a dual-threat like Hurts could be exactly what he needs.
