It has finally happened after a lot of talk leading up to it happening. Justin Fields has been moved and the Chicago Bears have officially given up on him.

But the team that Fields was traded to likely isn’t going to be very accepted by some of his biggest supporters. Fields has a large cast of supporters from his days at Ohio State where he developed to be a first-round selection.

By location, many Buckeye fans root for either the Cleveland Browns or the Cincinnati Bengals now have to watch Fields suit up for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Chicago is set on taking Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick, so they’ve moved on from Fields as the guy. Now, Fields will be the backup to Russell Wilson with Kenny Pickett traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fields is entering his fourth season in the NFL and has 6,674 passing yards, 40 touchdowns to 30 interceptions, and 2,220 rushing yards in three seasons. He was 10-28 as a starter with the Bears and was never able to firmly look like the franchise guy there.

A fresh start for Fields could be beneficial for his career and sitting behind a veteran like Wilson could help him bounce back as a future starter. Being traded to a stable franchise like the Steelers makes it a good landing spot.

Some of his supporters in Buckeye Nation may have a tough time accepting where Fields is now going to be playing, but it has looked like a likely destination for a bit now.
