Yes. You read the headline correctly.

This is real life: According to The New York Times' Rebecca Davis O'Brien, New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, has been approached by third-party presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and he's "welcomed the overture". It's unclear if a formal offer has been made.

The US senator has also approached former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler, Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Apparently, Kennedy and Rodgers have been talking about this for a while, too.

But getting back to Rodgers and just this craziness in general – the chances of this happening are wildly small. But my goodness, could you just imagine the dynamics behind of all this?

It's not like Rodgers would win, or anything, but there is growing concern about a third-party team-up like this that would attract votes that could end up making the difference in a close race between the two main presidential candidates.

The involvement of Mr. Rodgers — who is expected to start for the New York Jets this fall, at the height of campaign season — or of Mr. Ventura could add star power and independent zeal to Mr. Kennedy’s outsider bid. Democrats have worried that Mr. Kennedy could siphon votes away from President Biden, tilting a close election to former President Donald J. Trump, and Mr. Biden’s allies have been working to block Mr. Kennedy from the ballot across the country. – Rebecca Davis O'Brien, The New York Times

Ok, 267 words on this is enough. It's still crazy to think there are palatable circumstances that could lead to Rodgers actually affecting the election. No matter how small.
