The Tennessee Vols are one of the top schools for an elite four-star offensive lineman from New Jersey.
2025 four-star offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews included Tennessee among his top six schools on Sunday, along with Georgia, Maryland, Miami, Rutgers, and Syracuse.
Matthews, 6-foot-5/290 lbs from Toms River, NJ, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 10 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey. He's also rated as the No. 90 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.
The New Jersey native took an unofficial visit to Tennessee in early February and he's scheduled to take an official visit to Knoxville in June.
A big reason why the Vols are in the mix for Matthews is because of Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee.
“He (Elarbee) reminds me a lot of my O-line coach at high school,” said Matthews to Volquest recently. “He is a very personable guy. He treats his o-line like they are his son."
Matthews was previously committed to Penn State, but he decommitted from the Nittany Lions last September.
