The NFL world awaits the upcoming free agency frenzy, but pro day season is also upon us.

Kansas City Chiefs college scouts are out on the road taking in various pro days, trying to confirm athletic testing numbers for draft-eligible prospects. While attendance doesn't always denote interest in prospects, it's all part of the pre-draft fact-gathering mission. Brett Veach wants to collect as much information as possible to make informed decisions come the 2024 NFL draft in April.

Here’s a look at the latest pro days Chiefs scouts have been present for:

The Chiefs were among the 29 NFL teams in attendance for Northwestern's pro day on March 6, according to The Daily Northwestern's Jake Epstein

Northwestern had a better-than-expected season, in part due to the steady play of QB Ben Bryant. The 6-foot-3 and 214-pound passer played for the Cincinnati Bearcats from (2018 to 2020) before transferring to Eastern Michigan (2021). He returned to Cincinnati in 2022 before playing his final college season with Northwestern last year. Bryant appeared in 13 games with 11 starts for the Wildcats in 2023, completing 279 passes on 408 attempts (68.4%) for 3,121 yards and 14 touchdowns with seven interceptions. Bryant worked out alongside NU LB Bryce Gallagher and WR Cameron Johnson.

North Carolina Central WR DeAngelo Hardy, St. Ambrose WR Yemi Ward and Aurora University's James Mautino, Trey Madsen, and Marcellus Romious all worked out at the pro day as well. Ward reportedly turned some heads with a 4.4s 40-yard dash and 37-inch vertical jump.

Chiefs get a closer look at Tyrone Tracy Jr. at Purdue pro day

The Chiefs were among the 31 NFL teams in attendance for the Purdue pro day on March 7, a source confirmed to A to Z Sports.

A total of 10 players worked out for the Boilermakers, but the top prospect in attendance stood on his impressive workout from the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

That's none other than Tyrone Tracy Jr., a former WR-turned-RB, who could prove to be the ultimate offensive weapon in the NFL. Tracy ranked in the 88th percentile in Travis May's A to Z Sports' Athletic Composite with a burst score in the 93rd percentile, a speed score in the 66th percentile, and an agility score in the 95th percentile. The athletic testing at the combine has a lot of teams doing a deeper dive into the prospect ahead of the 2024 NFL draft, including the Chiefs.
