The New Orleans Saints have made another surprising roster move on cut down day.
The Saints are trading kicker Wil Lutz to the Denver Broncos. He re-joins Sean Payton.
The Saints have chosen rookie kicker Blake Grupe to be their starter.
Grupe impressed all offseason for New Orleans and provides a younger option for the team. He is also a more cost-efficient option than Lutz. Grupe will count for $750,000 this season, while Lutz' cap hit will be just over $4M.
The Saints have a new kicker, and Lutz is back with his former head coach, Sean Payton.
