The New England Patriots added another weapon to the practice squad on Thursday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots have signed former Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings receiver Jalen Reagor to the practice squad.
Reagor fills the final open spot on the practice squad.
Reagor was released by the Vikings on Wednesday and cleared waivers, allowing the Patriots to pick him up.
The receiver began his career with the Eagles, being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but only remained with the team for two seasons. During his time in Philadelphia, he finished with 64 catches for 695 yards and three touchdowns.
He was then traded to the Vikings in exchange for a 2023 seventh-round pick and a 2024 conditional fourth-round pick. There he had eight catches for 104 yards and one touchdown during the 2022 season.
And for Reagor, the Patriots season opener will be interesting.
New England opens the season at home in a matchup against the Eagles, with Raegor having the possibility to be called up and play against his former team.
Reagor joins wide receiver Thyrick Pitts along with quarterbacks Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham, running backs Ty Montgomery and Kevin Harris, tight ends Matt Sokol and Pharaoh Brown, offensive linemen Andrew Stueber, Kody Russey and James Ferentz, linebackers Calvin Munson, Joe Giles-Harris, Ronnie Perkins, safety Joshuah Bledsoe, defensive end Jeremiah Pharms Jr., and punter Corless Waitman on the practice squad.
