Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is known for his famous "Tomlinisms."

Often some of the wittier responses you will hear from a head coach, Tomlin has one response that is particularly sharp off the tongue.

He dropped it again in yesterday's week one presser, this time directed at his own family:

"I Do Not Care"

"They know better than to feed me anything because I do not care," said Tomlin when asked about the "optimistic noise" surrounding the team from his family. "I just respect the process, the professional component of what we do and I ask my guys to remain single-focused and ignore outside noise that's really irrelevant in terms of our growth and development and trajectory of what we're doing. And so, I stay away from those things, and particularly those that you mentioned that are close to me know not to delve into that."

This isn't the first time Tomlin dropped the "I do not care" phrase to a reporter, but certainly the first time he's used it in this context. And here's the thing, I totally believe him when he says it.

Coach T strikes me as the guy who leaves his work at the office if you will, meaning his family had better recognize that as well, even if his job is the sport of football.

The underlying meaning is what really matters here, however, with Tomlin speaking to his team through the media in this response. I'm sure back in the spring and early summer Tomlin told his guys to not pay attention to the pundits saying Pittsburgh would be a last-place team in the AFC North, the same way he's steering the team clear of believing any preseason hype as a "Super Bowl darkhorse."

I think the Steelers know better, just as Tomlin's family does, so maybe the reporters will finally recognize that Coach T is steady in his plan, leaving little influence from "outside noise."
