Sean Payton did all he could, but it just wasn't enough for the Broncos as they fell flat against a division rival to start the season. The new head coach turned heads by going for an onside kick to start the matchup, trying to set the tone early and often.
With the game, the unfortunate trend of injuries continued. Almost immediately into the second quarter, S Caden Sterns needed to be carted off the field with a knee injury that we previously wrote about. His status remains unknown but it doesn't look good.
The injuries didn't stop there as star TE Greg Dulcich suffered an apparent leg injury and was out for the rest of the game. One of Wilson's favorite targets wasn't able to compete late in the game. Surprisingly, it wasn't the offense that should get the blame for the loss, rather the defense crumbling late in the game.
More injury updates to follow after the uncertainty surrounding two of the most important pieces to this team. The snakebitten unit just cannot catch a break this season as injuries continue to pile up.
For now, onto next week. A devastating loss with some brutal injuries that add insult to injury (no pun intended).

The Denver Broncos are one of the most snakebitten teams across the league. Before halftime, the team suffered yet another blow.
